Shawnee County wrapped up the year with a boost in home sales. A total of 156 homes were sold in December, up 3.3% from 151 sales in December 2022. Sales volume rose to $31.6 million, a 13.7% increase from the previous year—showing strong year-end buyer activity in the Topeka real estate market.
The median sale price reached $193,375, a jump from $150,000 a year earlier. Homes sold at a median of 16 days on the market and for 100.0% of their list prices, indicating continued confidence and competitive pricing.
ACTIVE LISTINGS AND INVENTORY TRENDS IN SHAWNEE COUNTY
At the end of December, Shawnee County had 187 active listings, up from 149 at the same time in 2022. This equals a 1.0 months’ supply of available homes, offering a bit more breathing room for buyers while still favoring sellers.
