Zoila’s Cafe gave us plenty to talk about. The pork taco was the clear standout during our visit, delivering the kind of flavor that made it easy to see why it earned a spot in our taco competition. EPISODE 3: WHY WE CHOSE ZOILA’S CAFE

For Episode 3, we made our way to Zoila’s Cafe on SE 6th Street to see how their tacos would stack up against the restaurants we had already visited.

Every stop in the King of Tacos series brings something different to the table. Some restaurants stand out because of their atmosphere. Others have a specialty item that immediately catches your attention. At Zoila’s Cafe, the food itself made the impression.

The pork taco quickly emerged as one of the favorites from our visit. It had the flavor and character we were looking for as we continued our search for the best tacos in Topeka.

And then there was the green sauce.

Vuelve a la Vida started our journey with a standout steak taco. Rosi’s Food brought us chopped carne asada and a memorable elote. Now Zoila’s Cafe has entered the competition with a pork taco and green sauce that both made a strong impression.

That variety is what makes this search so much fun.
